Kootenai County Sheriff's Office locates stolen car, arrests Washington woman

A Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy located an occupied stolen car behind the Flying J truck stop in Post Falls, located on 5th Avenue, and arrested Aleksandra A. Bukovskaya, 29, from Washington on Saturday afternoon.

She was detained without incident.

The KCSO declined to disclose the city in Washington where Bukovskaya was from.

During a search of the vehicle, a large amount of reported stolen mail, reported stolen and possible fraudulent checks, reported stolen credit cards, and reported stolen driver’s licenses were located. Burglary tools, included window punches, numerous keys for other vehicles, prescription drugs, marijuana and methamphetamine were also located.

Bukovskaya was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen Financial Transaction Card, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule III drug, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Stolen items were linked to vehicle thefts in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Deer Park and Coeur d’Alene.

The case is still ongoing and being investigated by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
