PRESS: Fair and balanced

A “My Turn” guest article appeared in your March 22 edition, in which the writer stated that the Coeur d’Alene Press was unfair to the Republicans.

He cited one insignificant example, then segued into a critique of Democrats.

Unlike the New York Times or the Washington Post, I’ve never seen an article in The Press that was deliberately false or misleading. Maybe the editorial staff is liberal, maybe not; but as long as they present fair and balanced reporting, who cares? They give us the facts and let the readers decide for themselves.

What more could we ask from a local newspaper?
