LC girls, Post Falls boys win at Lewiston Invite

LEWISTON — Sammi Dement and Kyla Currie shot 81 and 85, repsectively, to lead the Lake City girls to the team title at the Lewiston Invitational, held Monday at Bryden Canyon.
They both played really well,” Lake City coach Corey Owen said. “They really stepped up to the challenge and played dynamite today.”
Savanna Routh shot 89 for Post Falls.
On the boys side, Post Falls prevailed in the team competition at Lewiston Country Club. Coeur d’Alene finished third, Lake City seventh, Lakeland 11th and St. Maries 15th.
Cameron Flores led a balanced Trojan team with a 71, good for third overall individually. Chase Mitchell shot 77 for the Vikings, while Jake Mitchell shot 79 for Lake City.
Area teams will return to competition after spring break, with the Moscow Invitational on April 12.

COEUR d’ALENE — Kallen Langley went 6-for-6 with 3 RBIs and Caleb Beggerly went 4-for-5 with 2 RBIs for Coeur d’Alene as the Vikings and Lakeland Hawks were tied 10-10 after 10 innnings in a game suspended due to darkness at Coeur d’Alene High.
Langley had three doubles and Beggerley had a double and triple among his hits. Coeur d’Alene tallied 15 runs, while Lakeland amassed 12.
The game will commence on April 5 at Coeur d’Alene High at 3 p.m., one hour before the scheduled start of another game vs. Lakeland.
