LAKELAND: A student's testimony

| March 11, 2017 12:00 AM

I have created many wonderful memories in the Lakeland School District. I first came into Lakeland when I was 8 years old, after moving away from my old school, Seltice Elementary. I was immediately greeted by a smiling instructor, friendly peers, and lots of interesting things to learn at John Brown Elementary. I made great friends who never let me down and are still loyal to me. I was never bullied. The instructors in the schools that I went to were never just teachers, but friends. I was always congratulated for my good academic record. I went to John Brown from second to sixth grade.

Then, I was transferred over to Lakeland Junior High. It was an extremely smooth transition. In sixth grade, we were given a tour of the school, and the first day was meeting our instructors, practicing our locker combinations, and memorizing our schedule. By the second week, everyone was ready and prepared to fly into the world of middle school. We are not forced to share lockers and we are sometimes given the choice on what we would like to do in class. Students are always given the chance to find their grades in their classes. In our schools, you will be respected as long as you respect others back.

In conclusion, as long as we work hard and do our best, we will enjoy our time in the Lakeland School District. I really love my school, and would be devastated if I had to leave.
