LAKELAND: A Spanish Hawk
My name is Pedro Rodriguez and I’m a foreign student from Spain who is currently studying at Lakeland. I have been here already six months and to tell you the truth, Lakeland has stolen my heart. It’s hard to be away from your family, friends and people that you love, but not so much if you find people that make you feel at home. I’m happy to be able to call the people from Lakeland my family. They have been there for me since I came here last August, for the good things, and sadly, for the bad things too.
Being part of any team in this high school is like being in a brotherhood, everyone supports each other, from the academic aspect of our life to even the personal. Being part of Lakeland teaches you things that will be used during all your life. By this time, I have played football and I have wrestled; now I’m doing track and is amazing how only in one week I’m feeling again that my family is growing. When I see the people from Lakeland, I can see my brothers and sisters. Here in Lakeland, education goes beyond math, science, history, English, etc… They teach you moral and ethical values that make us feel human. I wish every school in the world had some of the things that Lakeland does. Once a Hawk, always a HAWK.
