Editor defending Obama is a disgrace

Why in the world ANYONE much less the editor would waste time, space and resources trying to defend Obama’s absolute and total disrespect for the military, in this case his pathetic efforts at saluting the Marines who guard him, is puzzling. (Or maybe not.)

The editor decided the newspaper edition on March 8 just wouldn’t be quite complete without his screed defending Obama’s well-known hatred for the military and his pathetic “exercise” of the well-established tradition of the president, yes in civilian clothes, saluting those Marines as he leaves Marine One, his helicopter.

Listen, our senses have been assaulted for eight years now, with this individual some called president, failing to salute the Marines. Both he and his wife many times photographed refusing to put their hands over their hearts at the national anthem, and many other examples of a complete lack of respect for all things American, especially the military. Obama’s conduct here is a slap in the face to every veteran and every American who appreciates our military. And it’s insulting to every Marine who ever wore the uniform.

The salute between the Commander-in-Chief and his Marine guards should be a crisp salute while at a modified position of attention, eye contact, and possibly a brief, "good morning, Marine." It’s a military thing, it’s about mutual respect. A REAL Commander-in-Chief is proud to participate; take a look at films of George W. Bush exiting Marine One, or Ronald Reagan, or President Trump after only a few days on the job! Obama was finally shamed into his half-assed participation but when he does it it looks like he’s swatting a fly off his damn head, and it’s about as respectful of military tradition as the commentary the editor felt compelled to print on the subject. Hell, Obama has a warmer greeting for his homies on the basketball court! Repulsive!

It’s my opinion that only a true liberal Obama-lover would waste the time with such a pointless and misguided commentary as the editor’s defense of Obama’s lack of class and disrespect for our military.
