SCHOOLS: Reject bond, levy
District 271 continues to fight any mention of doing a better job of educating kids. Their task is to prepare kids for life, and yet, many graduate from their high schools unable to read. Surely, District 271 needs to grow, but vast growth in academic preparation must take place before massive additional funds are thrown at the district. A union (and ‘Partnership’) mentality stifles their desperately needed improvements. Taking monies out of additional future taxes is a wormy worded attempt to fool the public. The money indeed comes out of our future additional taxes. The district needs to study the Charter Academy’s methods to see how education is managed and accomplished. A no on these never-ending levy and bond issue requests.
