KMPO 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program Amendment #4 I-90, Sherman Ave to Blue Creek Bay Bridge Resurfacing Notice of Availability and Public Comment Period The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is seeking an amendment to the 2017-2021 Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization (KMPO) Transportation Improvement Program to add a new project for the 2017 calendar year. The proposed new project would conduct an unscheduled resurfacing project on Interstate 90 between Sherman Avenue and the Blue Creek Bay Bridge to remediate damage sustained this winter. This project will preserve the existing pavement on I-90 from Sherman Avenue Interchange exit 15 (milepost 14.803) to 6 miles east to Blue Creek Bay bridge (milepost 20.801) east of Coeur d'Alene. This project will mill the surface down approximately 2 inches, match surface grades with inlay pavement. The improvement will extend the service life of the pavement and will meet the mobility needs of the key east-west commerce route corridor. The projects programmed cost is 4.6 million dollars. The proposed amendment to the 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is now available for public review and comment. The TIP is a multi-year funding program document that lists federally and non-federally funded transportation improvements proposed by local jurisdictions, highway districts, Kootenai County, Idaho Transportation Department and the Coeur d' Alene Tribe during the next five years.
