NOBLE: Mussels and more

It is heartening that the “State Muscles Up for Fight Against Mussels” (Feb. 22, 1917) is firmer shielding of Lake Coeur d’Alene from mussels’ invasion. I urge people to expand that needed, noble goal to include focusing on other vital threats to our safety, well-being and flourishing.

Perils lurking at nearby Hanford, Wash., need immediate change, cleanup and better containment to reduce dire dangers. People need to be taught by their families to respect their own bodies, to trust in God, embrace wisdom, considerate love and foresight, planning for babies, or using birth control before pregnancy happens. Millions of American babes, unnamed, unknown, are a huge disaster that thinking and cherishing could have made blessings and joys. Vast numbers of talented, productive, helpful, affectionate lives have been lost. Mocking a person’s appearance, or brutally complaining about leaders’ plans, zeal, unique ideas for change, is rude and discrimination, and should change to encouragement and patient honoring. Laboratory cruelty done to innocent, helpless animals must end — they instead to be respected, adored, petted, cared for, not tormented for products’ development. Let our goals be sparkling life, just, safe, pure and kind for all.
