Riverstone Summer Concert series starts July 6
The 11th season of the Riverstone Summer Concert Series kicks off Thursday, July 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre presenting show tune favorites. Organized by the Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Alliance, the concerts are free.
With nine concerts on the menu through Aug. 31, highlights include:
- Villa Blues n’ Jazz | July 20. In conjunction with the CDA2030 Annual Celebration. With a “Grown Your Mind” education and learning theme, the celebration offers activities involving the CDA2030 visioning projects.
- David Gerald Blue | July 27. From Detroit, Gerald was recently listed as No. 1 on the ReverbNation blues charts for Michigan Blues artists. His debut album “Hell and Back” reached No. 1 on Roots Music Report’s Blues Chart for Michigan based artists and remained in the top 20 for many weeks.
- John Welsh Band | Aug. 3. Five-piece band from Vancouver, Canada, with a sound that blends high energy Latin, West African, reggae and folk rock rhythms.
The season rounds out with some of our area’s most talented bands in a variety of genres organizers say are guaranteed to inspire dancing on a warm summer evening.
“Bring a picnic and make an evening of music in this family-friendly event,” said the announcement of this year’s concert series.
