Live After 5 is once again rocking downtown Coeur d’Alene each week during the summer, but this year, it’s happening at McEuen Park.

The summer concert series offers live music, food and drink every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tonight’s show has organizers particularly jazzed.

“We are very excited to welcome Five Alarm Funk to Live After 5 for the first time ever,” said Tyler Davis, who produces Live After 5. “This Vancouver, B.C.-based funk band has played major national and international stages and is ready to provide an unforgettable show Wednesday night.”

Dave Melamed called Five Alarm Funk “eight-piece groove rockers,” when he wrote about the band in Live for Live Music.

“Rooted in the funk sound, the band merges influences from Latin music, progressive rock, ska, and more to make something that’s totally their own. But it all comes together with the tight-laced grooves that can only be found in funky, groovy music,” Melamed wrote.

Live After 5 is held at McEuen Park’s Avista Pavilion. Tickets are $5 and are available at the entrance. Kids 12 and younger are free. Remember to leave your dogs at home. Pooches and outside food and beverages are not allowed.
