Gary Dean Hall, 77

Nov. 8, 1939 — May 18, 2017

Gary passed away May 18, 2017, with his wife by his side, after a long battle with heart disease.

After graduating from high school in his hometown and birthplace, Sandpoint, Idaho, he joined the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1965. At that time, Gary began a career of selling office equipment. He co-founded H&H Business Systems in Post Falls, Idaho, and with its success allowed him to travel to all parts of the world.

He went on to own and operate several other businesses, until 2012 at which time he was forced to retire due to his health. His offices were located in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and Washington.

Gary was an avid car collector and story teller. Many of his stories centered around his childhood in Sandpoint and later in life his main focus was telling prideful stories of his grandchildren who completely lit up his life.

Gary leaves behind his wife, Patti Jacobs Hall; daughters Kara (Dan) Parkman and children Nick, Kyle and Sydney, and Elana Hall (Tanner Emerson) and their children Kaden Russell Hall and Tristan Emerson; a brother and his wife, Lee and Joyce Hall of Connell, Wash.; a half sister, Beverly Black and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his stepson, Patrick Jacobs, who he considered his own. Patrick passed away in October 2014.

The family has planned a private celebration of Gary’s life later this summer.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, has been entrusted with Gary’s care. Please sign Gary’s guest registry and view his online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
