COEUR d’ALENE — A man at a Coeur d’Alene apartment complex was injured Thursday when a fire broke out in his apartment.

The man, whose name was not released, escaped the fire by jumping out a second-floor window of the apartment building in the 3000 block of N. Fruitland Lane, according to Coeur d’Alene Fire Department officials.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

The fire was reported around 3 p.m.

“It was mostly contained to one room and its contents due to quick fire suppression efforts by our crews,” fire inspector/investigator and public information officer Craig Etherton told The Press.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“CDA Fire reminds people to always know two ways out of every room in your home,” Etherton said. “Have an escape plan and practice that escape plan.”
