COEUR d’ALENE — Brady Thompson went 2 for 3 with a two-run double in the fifth inning to spark the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen past the Prairie Cardinals 9-2 in a Class AA North Idaho League game on Wednesday at Thorco Field.

“Brady had a bit hit, but a bigger play in the field,” Coeur d’Alene coach Kevin Dunton said. “He played defense and did it with the bat as well.”

Bennett Cunningham, Levi Haen, Brett Keesee and Kallen Langley scored two runs each for Coeur d’Alene (8-9, 2-1 NIL).

“We executed at getting guys in with runners in scoring position,” Dunton said. “It was a good day of offense for us.”

Chazz Bailey and Matt Fleming had hits for Prairie is 7-6, 1-2.

The teams will meet again today at Post Falls High in a single-game at 5 p.m.

MOSCOW — Andrew Neilson drove in five runs in the second game for the Mountaineers in a Class A North Idaho League sweep of the Blue Devils on Tuesday.

Dylan Bradbury struck out three in a complete game win in the opener for Northern Lakes. Dustin Smith, Ryan Pote and Logan McDonald had two hits each in the opener.

Max Baker and Bradbury had three hits each in the nightcap for Northern Lakes (10-5, 9-1 NIL), which competes in the Libby Big Bucks tournament starting on Friday.
