SUNRIVER, Ore. — North Idaho College golf coach Russell Grove not only made the cut at the PGA Professional Championship tournament held at Crosswater Club Course and Meadows Golf Course at Sunriver Resort, but he is also tied for 10th position heading in today’s third round.

Grove shot an opening-round 70 at Crosswater on Sunday, and was four shots off the lead, tied for 19th out of 310 participants. He didn’t skip a beat on Monday, firing a 71 at Meadows, good for a 2-under total of 141 and a tie for 10th.

The top 90 players and ties made the cut for the last two rounds, being held today and Wednesday on the two courses.

A former Coeur d’Alene High and University of Idaho standout, Grove romped to a six-shot victory at the Oregon Open Invitational, which concluded last Thursday at the Juniper Golf Course in Redmond, Ore.
