Taylor, Smith power Northern Lakes

RATHDRUM — Jaret Taylor and Dustin Smith drove in two runs each as the Northern Lakes Mountaineers took advantage of four errors to beat the Moscow Blue Devils 10-1 in the resumption of a Class A North Idaho League baseball game at Gorton Field on Tuesday.

The game was the second game of a doubleheader cut short by rain on June 4. Northern Lakes won the first game; the second was suspended in the bottom of the first inning with Northern Lakes ahead 4-0.

Max Baker struck out six over seven innings for Northern Lakes (6-2, 6-1 NIL), which hosts the Spokane Crew at 3 p.m. and Spokane Cannons at 5:30 on Thursday in the opening round of the Best of the Northwest tournament.
