Carolyn Bessie Seger, 83

Carolyn Bessie (Dahlstrom) Seger died in the loving presence of her children on May 25, 2017. She was born on Sept. 11, 1933, in Oakland, Calif.

She met her husband, Harold J. Seger, while working as a nurse. Together they raised four children in San Jose, Calif. Carolyn earned her master’s degree in education and recreational therapy. She worked at the VA hospital helping veterans struggling with mental illness. She had a sweet spirit and an infectious laugh. She was active and determined to enjoy her life. Carolyn was always willing to try new experiences. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Art Dahlstrom; her husband, Harold Seger and her infant daughter, Leslie. Carolyn is survived by her four children, Carol Gaidos, Vivian Ward, Lorraine Ferguson and Richard Seger; her grandchildren, Russell Ward, Aaron Ward, Garrett Ward, Corrin Wallace, Tiffany Cates, AJ Gaidos, Chris Ferguson, Nick Ferguson, Evan Seger and Chloe Seger; and her great-grandchildren, Bella Ward, Victoria Cates, Annabell Cates and one on the way.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Golden Spike Estates club house in Rathdrum.
