Elliott lifts Prairie over Northern Lakes

RATHDRUM — Jacob Elliott threw seven innings, allowed two runs and three hits, struck out four and had three hits to lead the Prairie Cardinals (AA) over Northern Lakes (A) 8-3 on Monday at Gorton Field.

“Jake was tough today,” Prairie coach Pat Call said. “He was all around the plate, letting our guys play defense and he definitely earned the win today.”

Wyatt Sietian also collected three hits and extended his hitting streak to seven games.

Jaret Taylor had three hits for Northern Lakes (5-2), while Max Baker and Logan McDonald had two apiece.

Prairie (6-2) plays the Spokane Expos Red on Wednesday at Post Falls High at 6 p.m.
