Rockwell ‘Rocky’

Carneiro, 67

Rocky passed away June 6, 2017, in Spokane Valley, Wash. Rocky was born Nov. 23, 1949, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Antonio and Della (Kerr) Carneiro.

Rocky grew up in Coeur d’Alene with his mother and father, Tony and Della; and his bothers, Ted, Kenny and Jimmy. His family was well-known for opening Tony’s Super Club on Lake Coeur d’Alene. He attended Coeur d’Alene High School. After high school, he joined the Army, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was very proud to serve his country!

He continued to hold strong relationships with so many wonderful friends and family in Coeur d’Alene. His dedication to these relationships was a tribute to how deeply they meant to him. He had a wealth of stories about growing up, and the pranks he and his brother’s friends would have pulled. He loved sharing the stories with everyone, and everyone loved hearing them, even when we heard them over and over! His biggest passion was playing golf with his buddies, and being allowed to drive his golf cart all the way to the green. If he could have played every day, he would have!

Rocky held a special place in everyone’s hearts. He meant something different to each and every one of us. He had a shoulder to lean on when needed, he always had an open ear to listen. He provided his words of wisdom and advice. He had a giving heart to all. He loved to play pranks, and could always remember a good joke, and delivered it perfectly.

Rocky was a hero to his family, friends and his country. He was a proud Vietnam veteran with the United States Army. He was called by our Lord to come home and be with his beloved wife, Rosalind Carneiro; as well as his mother and father, Tony and Della Carneiro. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Karen Power, Karla Breesnee, Sindie Felix, Michelle Jurgens and Tonie Ann Reiboldt, and their spouses. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren (too many to list) will miss him dearly.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. Following the service, there will be a military burial at St. Thomas Cemetery, where he and Rosalind will be laid at rest together.
