Joanne Dean, 85

Joanne Y. Oakes Dean, 85, passed away in her home in Post Falls, Idaho, on June 3, 2017, of colon cancer. Joanne was born Sept. 24, 1931, to Steven and Eleanor Oakes of Springfield, Ore. Joanne had one brother, Leroy.

In 1951, Joanne met and married Tommy L. Dean. Together they had five children: Carol Pettibone of Pearce, Ariz., Connie Dean of Post Falls (deceased), Larry Dean of Payson, Ariz., Deanna Hayes of Post Falls and Peggy Dean of Hansen, Idaho.

Joanne loved roller skating in her younger days and feeding the wild birds around her home in her later years. Joanne’s favorite pastime was putting jigsaw puzzles together. The more color in it, the better it was. Joanne will be greatly missed by her family.

Joanne’s mother Eleanor; father Steven; brother Leroy; daughter Connie; and two ex-husbands, Lester and Tommy, preceded her in death.

Joanne’s family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of North Idaho. They are a great group of people.

There will be a viewing held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
