A. Juanita ‘Nita’ Divine, 79

A. Juanita “Nita” Divine, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at home after an extended illness.

Born on Sept. 1, 1937, in Gardena, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Joy (Phillips) Watson. Nita attended Perris High School in Perris, Calif.

On Sept. 11, 1955, she married the late Gerald “Jerry” L. Divine, who passed on May 26, 2008. Nita is survived by her daughter, Denise (Divine) Anthony; son Don Divine; grandchildren Melissa and Connor Quinn, and Eric Anthony; and great-grandchildren Ryder, Chloe and Grant Quinn, all from Coeur d’Alene. She is also survived by two sisters, Roberta Cooper and Fern Harrison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn McMath.

Nita and Jerry had lived in Coeur d’Alene since 1966. They created, owned and operated Idaho Fence Company for more than 20 years. Prior to starting their own business, Nita worked at Buttreys for several years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother/grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed RVing, boating on Lake Pend Oreille on their houseboat the “Sum Fun,” traveling, dining out with her family, and her beloved dog, Baxter. Nita was an original member of the Late Bloomers softball team (qualifications — 35 years of age or more). Her passing has left a void in our hearts that will never be filled.

The family invites those who knew Nita to join in a celebration of her life at her home on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017. The open house will be from 1-5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Crest Home Health & Hospice.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
