A 1950 graduate of West Valley High School, Donna married James Lyons in 1952. They were the proud parents of two wonderful daughters.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of wit, good humor, determination and feistiness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Michele (Barry) Smith of Durham, N.C., and Carol (Steve) Childress of Hayden Lake, Idaho; as well as five grandchildren, one great-grandson and countless lifetime friends. Donna’s family would like to thank the staff of The Bridge at Garden Plaza in Post Falls and The Hospice of North Idaho for their love and outstanding care during Donna’s final days.

A graveside memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Spokane Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. In tribute to Donna, attendees are asked to wear something blue, her favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna’s name to The Hospice of North Idaho.
