LEWISTON — Tournament MVP J.J. Robinson tripled in the go-ahead run in the seventh, and scored an insurance run on a wild pitch as Lewis-Clark State beat Faulkner (Ala.) 6-4 in the championship game of the NAIA World Series on Friday night at Harris Field.

L-C State (40-14) won its third straight NAIA title, and record 19th overall, all since 1984. Faulkner (54-12) won on Thursday night to force a winner-take-all title game Friday night.

Gunnar Buhner, son of former Seattle Mariners great Jay Buhner, singled and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 4 for L-C State.

John Price Jr.’s two-run homer in the top of the first gave Faulkner a 2-0 lead. Micah Brown answered for the Warriors with a two-run shot in the bottom of the inning, part of a three-run inning.
