I-90 pileup injures three

| June 3, 2017 1:00 AM

Three people were transported to Kootenai Health following a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash that occurred early Thursday evening on Interstate 90 at milepost 11 near Coeur d’Alene.

The 5:35 p.m. crash was in the westbound lanes and blocked the roadway for more than an hour, according to Idaho State Police.

The chain reaction occurred when the driver of a white 2003 Dodge pickup — driven by an unidentified teen from Dalton Gardens — braked suddenly to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of her. The Dodge pickup was then rear-ended by a black 2004 GMC pickup driven by Stephanie G. Pollitt, 43, of Post Falls. A gray 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Linda A. Holehan, 57, of Post Falls, then crashed into Pollitt’s vehicle. The Chevy Trailblazer was then rear-ended by a white 2005 Dodge van driven by an unidentified male teen from Coeur d’Alene and occupied by two additional people: Dominic M. Veneroso, 20, of Hayden, and an unidentified juvenile male from Coeur d’Alene.

All occupants were wearing seat belts except for one passenger in the Dodge van. The Dodge van was recovered by Reliable Towing. The GMC pickup was recovered by Sunset Towing, and the Chevy Trailblazer was recovered by Schaffer's Towing.
