COEUR d’ALENE — North Idaho Pride Alliance is presenting its third annual Pride in the Park event Saturday in Coeur d'Alene City Park.

Pride in the Park is a free, family-friendly community picnic, celebrating diversity and building a safer and stronger community for all.

The event goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature food, entertainment, a family area and community resource tables. It will be held at the bandshell and picnic shelter in the heart of the park.

"Pride in the Park is an event that focuses on unifying our community by celebrating our diversity," said Juli Stratton, North Idaho Pride Alliance executive director. "We welcome all who believe in moving equality forward to join us in this celebration."

Headlining the entertainment will be the Angela Marie Project and Kathy Colton and the Reluctants. Food will be provided by Big Bear Deli of Post Falls, and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho will host the family and kid area.

Directly following Pride in the Park will be the 21st annual OutSpokane Pride Cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene. The 2-hour cruise will include 21-and-older cash bars, a DJ, dancing and door prizes. For info, visit www.outspokane.org.

Pride in the Park is co-sponsored by Pride Foundation, OutSpokane, PFLAG Coeur d'Alene and AHA Creative.
