FLOAT HOME: Boatload of trouble
Had a hearing on Lake Coeur d’Alene lot 6, my grandfather’s float home. The hearing was one day before Trump took office.
I can say I feel happy here. I don’t have to have my leg amputated to remove me from my truck. Oh well, whatever the Department of Lands decides to do, I will live with or appeal the decision.
I do feel like a felon, lying on my couch, an old cancer survivor with a floating home in serious condition mostly because of very heavy winds.
My revelation is that I had done nothing wrong. I had no part of doing the damage. I’ve had literally hundreds of people trying to help. It’s just that the infractions continue to grow with each storm episode.
At the beginning of 2016 summer season, four items were brought to my attention and promptly taken care of. At the end of summer, 36 items were brought to my attention and bad weather was already here. Nearly impossible to get to the lot at all, much less have some other wonderful person risk their life to help.
Then just last week I was notified that after owning this float house 11 years, I need four numbers installed outside the float home. I purchased the numbers and found Higgins Point boat ramp completely snowed under. It’s not that I wouldn’t try it, if any way possible. Am wondering if a drone could do the job.
Anyway, thanks to all those who have tried so hard to get the situation under control.
We’ll wait for the big shoe to drop.
