PENDLETON, Ore. — Markus Golder had 19 points and six rebounds to lead North Idaho College to a 79-58 win against the Blue Mountain Timberwolves in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region game on Saturday afternoon.

NIC (17-3, 5-2 NWAC) outscored Blue Mountain 42-24 in the second half to pull away.

“We’ve really been focusing on the defensive side of the ball, and the guys really played good team defense tonight and didn’t give them a lot of good, open shots,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “We’ve had good first half, but hadn’t put together a second half. We held the guys accountable for their rotations, and it was our best effort of the year on defense.”

Sam Dowd had 15 points and eight assists for NIC, which travels to Columbia Basin College of Pasco on Monday.

Darien Davis scored 19 points for Blue Mountain (4-14, 2-6).
