HUDSONS: Fond family story
Ric Clarke’s Jan. 11 article on Hudson Hamburgers and the Hudson boys brought back memories.
My son, David Moore, delivered the Coeur d’Alene Press after school with his dog, Louie, trailing along behind the bicycle. Anytime I wanted to check on David, I would drive up Sherman and there would be Louie, sitting outside Hudson’s, and inside would be David eating his hamburger after doing his paper delivery.
Many years later, in Seaside, Ore., where he owned the Pizza Harbor, a Seaside friend from Coeur d’Alene who also spoiled his dinner with a Hudson hamburger pledged to meet at Hudson’s in the summer for that special hamburger.
Sadly, David died in March from cancer, but I am sure his friend ate two Hudson hamburgers that summer.
