James signs future/reserve contract with NFL's Chiefs

Former Coeur d’Alene High standout Josh James has signed a future/reserve contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, his agent Derrick Fox said.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound James, an All-American offensive tackle at NAIA Carroll College in Helena, Mont., in 2015, signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016, but was released in late August.

Future/reserve contracts basically give players a chance to fight for a roster spot during upcoming OTAs and training camp.

James graduated from Coeur d’Alene High in 2011.
