Lakeside tops Kootenai; other events on ice

HARRISON FLATS — Lillian Rhea scored 18 points to lead the Lakeside Knights past the Kootenai Warriors in a North Star League game Tuesday night.

Lakeside (10-1, 5-0 NSL) opened a 15-1 lead after the first quarter on the way to a 30-16 halftime lead.

“In the first quarter, we weren’t shooting well at all,” Kootenai coach Doug Napierala said. “They were able to convert and got out to a big lead and put us in a hole throughout the quarter. We got into a flow in the second quarter and played point-for-point. They just came out and executed really well and we didn’t get shots to fall.”

Kaili Gentry had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals and Kennedy LaFountaine had five rebounds for Kootenai (3-6, 2-3 NSL), which is scheduled to play at Wallace tonight.

Corin Peone scored 12 points for Lakeside, which travels to Clark Fork on Friday.
