ISP: Tale of complaint
In September, a female driver was rear-ended by a Washington driver who had NO license. The Washington driver became verbally hostile, trying to get the other driver not to call the police and tried to get the other driver to leave the scene of the accident.
The rear-ended driver called police asking them to hurry. She told the officer the other driver’s behavior was highly suspicious and asked the officer to DUI test her. The officer refused and had a male to female discrimination attitude.
Later that day the driver called ISP to report possible man to female discrimination. The officer at the scene jad stated she was not being cited for anything. Then after the complaint was made to ISP a ticket was issued against her — long after the fact. The officer attempted to go to the victim’s house. The victim requested a female officer to serve the so-called ticket. The officer made the victim feel unsafe in her home.
Instead of sending a female, a male captain joined into the male to female harassment by calling the victim and stating he was taking away her driver’s license without being served the ticket or going to court. Like the KKK of olden days, the captain decided on his own to call and threaten the driver who had been rear-ended. A pre-trial was held in an unfair matter as well. The prosecutor gave everyone in the room a plea bargain deal. When it was the victim’s turn they stated “So you’re going to plead guilty.” We aren’t giving any deals for you. The victim was told the ISP could do anything they wanted to drivers and that a court-appointed attorney would not be supplied to anyone trying to defend from the actions of the ISP.
After the pre-trial, the victim called to talk to the captain. He told the victim NOT to contact the press. (Apparently they don’t want the public to know what they are doing to a citizen.) He stated that he himself had made the threatening phone call telling the victim she was to lose her license because ISP had failed to serve her the ticket after the fact. The victim was an out of town worker.
So YOU think it’s time for a change in management and a change in laws protecting the people from an ISP white collar lynch mob. Please write in about your experiences with the Hayden ISP. Let’s join together as a community. Come join our fight for fairness to the people they are supposed to be serving. Please join us in emailing the IDAHO GOVERNOR.
