SCIENCE: Much liberal noise

I read with interest your editorial “Science stymies Idaho” of Feb. 19. Your call for a little calmness and intelligent conversation by both sides of the climate change debate was spot on. However, I have yet to see or hear anything resembling calmness and intelligent discussion by the global warming fanatics since the beginning of their warming agenda back in 2006.

For the past 10 to 11 years, the political left has shouted down anything close to resembling real science that might hinder their anti-CO2 agenda and their huge request for funding to deal with this made-up crisis. They refuse to acknowledge any science that disputes their erroneous conclusions from data generated by scientific studies. The most vocal of these is the IPCC, or Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This agency, by its own admission, is not a scientific body, but rather a political one. It’s greatest proponent is that world famous scientist Al Gore, who with clever data manipulation was able to garner the Nobel Peace Prize for alarmism.

Any reasonable person with a scientific interest in the truth should examine two books. 1. “Climate Change, the Facts,” edited by Alan Moran. This book closely examines the studies and data that has been generated by Climate scientists. 2. “Global Warming, A Geoscientist looks at the science of global warming,” by G. Dedrick Robinson, Ph.D.

Unfortunately the political left has taken the global warming, er, man-made global warming er, Climate Change, and turned it into one of the greatest money-making schemes foisted on the American public. As one example of the bad science they support, the dangerous global warming they pushed on the public starting in 2006, NEVER materialized! In fact, there has been no significant, ie, outside the parameters of normal variation, warming in the last 18 YEARS!

One more thought: Without petroleum, where would our industrial world be?
