BIAS: Don't trust fact-checks

| February 23, 2017 12:00 AM

In Sunday’s issue of the Coeur d’Alene Press, the editor seemingly is discounting a letter written by Maureen Paterson questioning climate change data. The Press used FactCheck.org to support their position and referred to the organization as being nonpartisan.

Perhaps the editor of The Press is unaware that FactCheck.org receives its largest funding from the Annenberg Foundation, which funded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, whose board members included former president Barack Obama and convicted Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers. Obviously, FactCheck.org is partisan and to name them otherwise is not honest.

I find it interesting how suddenly almost all “fact-checking organizations” are misnamed and are really liberal checking organizations. The Coeur d’Alene Press errs in calling FactCheck.org unbiased. Please be honest with your “facts.”
