Chiefs fall again at Tri-City

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Spokane Chiefs gave up three third-period goals — all on the power play — and lost 5-1 to the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League play Saturday night before 5,562 at Toyota Center.

Kailer Yamamoto’s team-leading 34th goal early in the second period pulled Spokane within 2-1.

The Chiefs are now 0-5 at Tri-City this year, and have lost 7 of 9 to the Ams this season, with three games remaining with them.

Spokane remains eight points back of Portland for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, with 13 games left.

The Chiefs return to action Saturday at home vs. Tri-City.
