SCOUTS: Keep gays out

| February 15, 2017 12:00 AM

This letter is in response to the editorial given in the Feb. 3 paper entitled “Chivalry marches forward.” This editorial gave an extremely disgusting false narrative concerning the Boy Scouts allowing those of the LGBT community within their organization.

Chivalry has nothing to do with forcing one’s beliefs and ideas upon others! It is based in finding your own path and allowing others to do the same thing. Had the LGBT community decided to start an LGBT Scouts and performed honorably, then they would have respected the rights of the Boy Scouts and thus would have brought respect unto themselves. The Girl Scouts had no problem figuring this simple task of moral principle out, but no, the LGBT community had to fight, kick, claw, file lawsuits and use whatever tactics necessary to finally destroy the moral fabric of a once great organization.

This type of behavior is not chivalry! It creates absolute and total contempt. The LGBT community had every opportunity to create their own group and make themselves equal to the other groups. This would have created respect toward their efforts. Instead, once again they have chosen to continue creating division and hatred that has this nation divided as never before.

The Knight’s Code of helping everyone and offending no one is honorable and should always be maintained. However, helping someone in need does not mean allowing them into and living in your home to destroy your way of life! Honor is in respecting the differences and living side by side. It is dishonorable to force oneself upon those with different beliefs.

The principled people of Biblical morals have now just lost having a decent place to send their children. AND that is supposed to create unity? Stupidity abounds!
