FEAR: The political driver

Fear had a lot to do with Donald Trump’s victory. That fear is very strong in many of his supporters. Many gun owners cite the need for guns to protect themselves (from what?) and they have a second fear that people are trying to take their guns away from them. Then there is the need for “the wall” and fear of immigration in general.

There is strong evidence that most of the American people do not want to take all guns away and very little evidence that immigrants are dangerous, certainly not as dangerous as some of our citizens with guns. Are you really afraid or is fear a euphemism for hate or for the possibility that you will be left behind in a changing America?
