July 11, 1977 — Feb. 4, 2017

Shannan Karen Moore passed into the arms of her loving Savior Jesus on Feb. 4, 2017, at 4:05 p.m. due to organ failure. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Shannan was born July 11, 1977, at Kootenai Hospital and lived in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Growing up, Shannan was involved in 4-H dog training, was a part of the Emmanuel Baptist Church youth group and loved spending time with her friends.

Shannan graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1995, obtained her bachelor’s in psychology from North Idaho College and the University of Idaho in 1999, her master’s in social work from Boise State University in 2011.

Shannan followed her passion to help others by taking a job as a caseworker at North Idaho Behavioral Health. For 13 years, Shannan helped the youths of North Idaho obtain the help that they needed to become whole and healthy.

Shannan was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ken and Lucille Moore; her maternal grandparents, Howard and Gertrude Mace; and her stepson, Darren Normington.

Shannan is survived by her parents, Ken and Karen Moore; her siblings, Lisa Hegney, Dawn Malcolm, Ken Moore, Glen Moore and Tony Moore; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Prior to passing, Shannan requested that the family refrain from having a funeral. Shannan’s request was that family and friends have a barbecue in her honor. The arrangements for the barbecue will be made at a future date.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family asks that donations in Shannan’s honor be made to the Schneidmiller House — Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
