LIGHTS: Warm is right
After reading the article on light pollution I felt I needed to add my two cents worth. I live in the Garden District and love the old houses and the soft warm glow of the lights we have now. Replacing the lights we have now with 4000k (bright white) lights would change forever the character of the neighborhood. I know LED lights are great for many reasons and I have them everywhere in my house, however, I opted for lights in the 2000-3000k range (warm white). They are a little more expensive but well worth it. I have a street light near my house and would hate to see my house bathed in harsh white light all night.
Please reconsider the changing of the feel of the neighborhoods which these new lights would effect. P.S.: I would be happy to pay the cost for my street light to remain “warm.”
