OREGON CITY, Ore. — Lake City High product Whitney Meier scored 26 points off the bench for North Idaho College, sparking the Cardinals past the Clackamas Cougars 85-82 in overtime in the Clackamas tournament on Saturday afternoon.

“It was an up-and-down game,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “We got up on them and it looked like we were going to roll them, but they fought back. It got a little tight at the end, but we somehow fought through it and tied it up. Everyone stepped up and made some plays tonight.”

Meier hit a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to seal the win.

NIC (6-2) faces Lower Columbia today at noon to conclude the tournament.
