| December 10, 2017 12:00 AM

SPOKANE VALLEY — Alex Edelblute (106 pounds) and William Edelblute (126) won individual titles for Lakeland, which finished fourth in the annual Inland Empire Classic on Saturday at Central Valley High.

Lakeland sent five wrestlers to the finals with Sam Edelblute (113), Tavis Woempner (120) and Logan Kelley (160) finishing second.

“We were happy with the results for it being our first tournament of the year,” Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. “Even those that finished runner-up, they were in those final matches as well. It was a great starting point for the beginning of the year.”

Coeur d’Alene finished 10th with Sam Reese (113), Payton Keough (132) and Mitchell Moffat (145) finishing fifth individually.

“The guys wrestled hard,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “We lost three or four matches in the blood round (to enter placing matches) that were really tight matches. It’s a good gauge to see where we’re at. We just need to eliminate the mistakes and get better each week.”

On Wednesday, Lakeland will wrestle Lake City and Coeur d’Alene at Coeur d’Alene High. Coeur d’Alene and Lake City will also face Kellogg that night at Coeur d’Alene.
