Post Falls overcomes free-throw woes, tops U-Hi
SPOKANE VALLEY — Even on a bad night from the free-throw line, Post Falls did enough to take a road win on Saturday night.
Melody Kempton had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Trojans in a 53-51 win over the University Titans.
Post Falls (4-0) finished 6 of 17 from the free-throw line, with University going 16 of 17, including 14 for 14 in the second half.
“We haven’t played our best basketball yet this season,” Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. “We’re still a little up and down, and have some things to work on. It was our first close game, and it was nice to see them find a way to win.”
Sydney Parks had eight rebounds and Bayley Brennan 15 points for Post Falls, which hosts Gonzaga Prep on Thursday at The Arena.
Eli Boni scored 18 points for University.
