ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Wednesday, Aug. 30

Heath Wiltse

Coeur d’Alene

Wiltse, 42 years old, was the top local finisher in Sunday’s Ironman Coeur d’Alene, finishing in 10 hours, 17 minutes and 26 seconds, placing 22nd overall and seventh in his age group. It was the final edition of the full 140.6 mile event in Coeur d’Alene, with the half Ironman still slated for June. “I’ve always wanted it, and been close, but that’s neat,” Wiltse said. “This community is great. I’m really going to miss this being here.”
