Stevens spurs Clark Fork romp
WEIPPE — Senior quarterback Wade Stevens accounted for four touchdowns, including three on the ground and one through the air, leading Clark Fork to a 42-0 win over Timberline in season-opening White Star League football Saturday.
The Wampus Cats (1-0, 1-0 WSL) were clicking on both sides of the ball, pitching a shutout behind the work of Josh Constantin, who tallied three sacks, Theo Icardo, who had two, and Stevens and Bryant Moore, who each had an interception as the Cats forced four turnovers.
“Going in we were preaching not beating ourselves, taking care of the ball and creating turnovers on defense,” said Clark Fork coach Brian Arthun, lauding the play of his senior signal caller. “Wade pretty much carried the offense with 131 yards rushing. He was all over the place, by far the best player on the field.”
Clark Fork is at Selkirk next Friday in nonleague action.
