DOGS: A Majestic mess

I don’t live within the Rathdrum city limits, but my family has used Majestic Park on a few occasions and I want to say the city has done an outstanding job with this park and ball fields.

However, on Monday we decided to use the dog park for the first time with our two boxers. I could not believe how badly it was littered with dog waste. You could barely walk 10-15 feet without encountering a “pile” in some areas.

I know it is not the job of the city park staff to pick up after the dogs, but it’s a shame that the dog owners who use the dog park do not have the common courtesy to pick up after their animals.

I’m not big on rules and regulations, but possibly some ordinance should be considered. The saying goes somewhat like this: It’s the stupidity of a few idiots to ruin it for the rest of us.
