CAROUSEL: Opportunity missed

| August 25, 2017 1:00 AM

I totally agree with everything written in Judy Norton’s letter and I want to ride as well! What a disappointment to discover that blank, lacking any character building to be the carousel.

This city frankly does a very poor job in its choice of how to spend “art work monies” and missed a major opportunity on this. In fact, I would call it an insult to this historic icon that surely was not hidden before years ago. It withstood Idaho weather just as we who go to the park do. Surely there are those with talent who can bring a revealing theme to this blank dud! Along with adding open areas to see in and to see out of to the beautiful park and lake; not to mention allowing fresh air in.

To us, this is just one more fly in the development of the park systems that actually reduce parking (especially for handicapped) and lack foresight for benches to sit and rest on at new McEuen Park. I tried to walk it with our schnauzer and with MS failed to really be able to enjoy it for lack of seating to rest. McCall Park, near Hayden Lake, has become our choice to walk and be able to rest in a beautiful pined area.

Would love to be drawn back downtown for pleasure ALL are able to enjoy and have access to! Thank you readers, respectfully.
