“We definitely ran through Diego today and tried to get more creative in the second half,” Post Falls coach Gabe Lawson said. “In the second half, we wanted to create around him, and it worked. Diego was just having one of those days and he was pretty darn accurate today.”

COEUR d’ALENE — Mac Stultz broke a scoreless tie in the 62nd minute for the Bulldogs in a nonleague win over the Vikings at Coeur d’Alene High.

“The key for us was we lacked intensity today,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Lake said. “It was obviously our first game and it looked like we hadn’t played together in a year. Both teams had their chances here and there, and Sandpoint took advantage of their chance today. They just came out more intense than we did.”

Shawn McKeeken had seven saves for Coeur d’Alene (0-1), which hosts Moscow on Saturday.

Julian Reichold had six saves for Sandpoint.

First half — none. Second half — 1, Spt, Luke Koch (unassisted), 62:00.
