In Memory of Fran Bess, 76

Feb. 1, 1941 — Aug. 10, 2017

Lesley Frances “Fran” Bess, 76, passed away peacefully on Aug. 10, 2017, after a brief struggle with cancer. Fran was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Cumberland, B.C.

Fran enjoyed the simple things in life, her kids and grandkids are what truly brought laughter and joy to her world. She was the recipient of many pranks and jokes which always made her smile bigger, and eyes brighter. She was a strong woman who taught all that knew her, how to dust yourself off when times got hard. The words “I can’t” or giving up were never an option. She believed anything was possible and insisted you believe it too. Fran had a passion for helping children in need and opened her home to more than 300 kids in her years as a foster parent.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Bess; her three children, Carrie Norton, Julie Blackstock and Walter Blackstock; her sister, Joan Springer; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at her home, 15390 N. Forestdale Drive, Rathdrum, Idaho. We would like to welcome all those who knew and loved her and would like to come and support our family during this difficult time.
