RIGHTS: Where mothers suffer
This letter is in response to the article Aug. 12 entitled “Father seeks release from jail.” While we read story after story of child abuse in this county, many more than should ever occur, this story is a perfect example of what should never occur.
This evil man, who does not deserve the name “father” — a title reserved for someone with those skills and intelligence — demands to be released from jail. He feels he should be placed in a special program. The truth of the matter is that he should never have been RELEASED in the first place. His criminal conviction record includes TWO injury to a child charges, numerous probation violations, domestic battery and felony drug possession.
Now his toddler — age 3 — was found wandering a bad section of Government Way. The baby had no shoes, was dirty, and could he offer an opinion, was probably starving and frightened, no doubt trying to find his mother.
Where was the mother? She states that she was required to release the baby to this man — required by court order. If she did not, she would be subject to custodial interference and jail. This “father” took the baby and went directly to some hovel to do drugs with his brother.
Of course the baby will be returned to him. Father’s rights rule the land here. The mother has no rights, and certainly the child has no rights — he is simply a pawn in the family court system.
