AIRPORT: Runway to complaints

| August 4, 2017 1:00 AM

In the future, after the airport expansion is complete, readers write:

Ann Knapweed from Post Falls writes, “Every time one of those commercial airliners flies over my house, (Spokane International Airport is closed due to fog) my sheets on the clothesline get little bitty black spots on them and it smells like diesel.” (Jets run rich fuel when taking off and landing.)

Joe Turnbuckle from Coeur d’Alene sez; “We were out on the lake and one of those big noisy jets flew over. You could smell the JP5 and it sure don’t smell like barbecue.” JP5 = Jet propulsion fuel.

Nor Notyad from Athol sez; “We are in the airport flight corridor and those big jets fly over our house and scare the hell out of our horses.”

Sandy Thisel from Rathdrum writes “that her chickens quit laying and she can’t keep her goats penned in when it gets real jet noisey.”

My prediction. Sorry.
