EASTER: Freedom to differ
Look Bob, I don’t think you ought to have shamed Sholeh Patrick for spreading a little history just because it contradicts your beliefs. Freedom of speech and all that.
As a Wiccan raised by Christians, I believe in freedom of faith. We ought to celebrate our differences rather than pass judgments.
I want to briefly explain Wicca. We revere Nature, respect life, and our creed is “Do what thou wilt, and harm none.”
The five points of the pentacle, which has been rudely maligned, represent the five elements (air, fire, water, earth, soul) connected by a circle. The very notion of devil worship is ridiculous and offensive to us. We fear bad karma, not hell.
Speaking for myself, I think reincarnation and life on other planets is likely. I don’t have or require all the answers. Life is a mysterious journey. Why not try to enjoy it?
While no religion has the Whole Truth, one can find truth in any faith. And I don’t care what your race, religion or sexuality is; we are all human beings. Only people who act on hatred are deviants of nature, I think.
Look up OESTRE, OSTARA, or the Spring Equinox for more on Celtic holidays reappropriated by Christians.
This is a global civilization. We don’t have to love everybody, but we should try to coexist in peace. So I’m a hippie! Recycle. Watch “Cosmos.” Drive safely. Blessed be!
